What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a gastric protective protein. Preclinical work has examined its effects on angiogenic signalling (VEGF, NO) and connective-tissue repair markers.

BPC-157: expanded research context
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide fragment of a gastric protein. Preclinical work — largely rodent — has examined effects on tendon, ligament and mucosal repair, angiogenesis via VEGFR2 signalling, and modulation of nitric-oxide and dopaminergic pathways. It is one of the most cited peptides in the regenerative-research literature despite the absence of large human trials.
Research interest centres on tendon-to-bone healing, gastrointestinal mucosal integrity and post-injury vascularisation. Note that regulatory status is regionally restricted: BPC-157 is prohibited in-competition by WADA and is not a licensed medicine anywhere globally.
