How the math works

Step 1 — total mcg: vial mg × 1000. A 5 mg vial holds 5000 mcg of peptide.

Step 2 — concentration: total mcg ÷ ml of bacteriostatic water added. 5000 mcg in 2 ml gives 2500 mcg / ml.

Step 3 — volume per dose: target mcg ÷ mcg per ml. A 250 mcg research dose from a 2500 mcg / ml solution needs 0.1 ml.

Step 4 — syringe units: ml per dose × syringe scale. 0.1 ml on a 100-unit insulin syringe is the 10-unit mark.
