What 'research grade' means in practice
'Research grade' has no single legal definition. In practice, a serious research-grade supplier should commit to three things: documented synthesis, third-party purity testing, and batch-matched paperwork.
The minimum quality bar
Regena Peptides will not release a batch below 99% HPLC purity with mass-spec identity confirmation. Anything looser than that — 95%, 97%, 'pharma grade', 'ultra pure' without a number — is marketing language.
Supplier checklist
Is the COA dated and signed by a named lab? Does the batch code on your vial match the COA? Is the testing third-party (not in-house)? Does the supplier publish chromatograms, not just summary numbers? If any answer is no, walk.
Frequently asked questions
Is 99% enough?+
≥99% HPLC + mass-spec ID is the industry working standard for research peptides. Anything advertised as 'pure' without a number is not verifiable.
